Location: Sheffield, S14
Start Date: September 2026
Contract: Full-time, full school term

Teaching Personnel are currently working with a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Sheffield (S14) who are looking to appoint a dedicated EYFS SEND Teaching Assistant for a full-time role for the entire school term.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is passionate about supporting young children in their early stages of development and has experience working with children with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND).

The successful candidate will work within the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS), supporting children with additional needs both in the classroom and through targeted interventions. The role will also involve personal care, so applicants should be comfortable providing this support in a respectful and nurturing manner.

We are looking for someone who:

  • Holds an approved Early Years qualification (Level 2, Level 3 or equivalent) – this is highly desirable.
  • Has experience supporting children with SEND in an EYFS or primary setting.
  • Is patient, caring and able to build strong relationships with young children.
  • Can support children’s communication, social and emotional development.
  • Is confident working as part of a wider EYFS and SEND team.
  • Has a good understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting children during play-based learning and classroom activities.
  • Assisting with speech, language and communication development.
  • Helping pupils access learning through tailored support strategies.
  • Supporting children with personal care routines when required.
  • Encouraging independence, confidence and positive behaviour.
  • Working closely with the class teacher, SENDCO and other professionals.

What Teaching Personnel can offer:

  • Competitive weekly pay, paid through PAYE.
  • A dedicated consultant to support you throughout your placement.
  • Access to free and discounted CPD training courses.
  • Valuable experience within a supportive and well-established EYFS team.
  • Opportunities for future long-term and permanent roles.

If you are an enthusiastic and compassionate Early Years practitioner looking for a rewarding full-time role in Sheffield S14, we would love to hear from you.
