I am delighted to be partnering with one of the world's leading commercial insurers on a key appointment within their Scottish operation. This is a high-profile, externally-facing Development Underwriter role sitting at the heart of their Mid-Market and Mid-Corporate strategy in Scotland — and a genuine opportunity for an ambitious underwriting professional to shape how a major insurer partners with the broker community north of the border.
This is not a desk underwriting role. It's a business development and technical underwriting position combined — requiring someone who can lead on large, complex cases, build and own broker relationships at a senior level, and drive profitable new business growth through their own pipeline.
The role
Act as the face of the business in presenting propositions for larger Mid-Market and Mid-Corporate risks, drawing on deep industry knowledge and technical underwriting expertise.
Work with internal Trading Underwriters to negotiate coverage, wordings and pricing that differentiate the proposition and meet customer needs.
Proactively build and manage a robust pipeline of qualified Mid-Market and Mid-Corporate new business opportunities, leveraging both client and broker relationships...
