Are you passionate about making a genuine, lasting difference in people's lives?

Do you have the skills to help individuals and families overcome trauma, rebuild their independence, and feel safe in their own homes?

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Outreach Support Worker to join our team in Monmouthshire. In this vital role, you will work directly with individuals and families affected by domestic abuse, delivering trauma-informed support to help them maintain their tenancies, manage risks, and thrive within their local community.

The Role

As an Outreach Support Worker, you will provide holistic, individualised support designed to prevent tenancy breakdown and empower people to live free from abuse.

Key Responsibilities

  • Individual Support & Assessment: Carry out thorough needs assessments, safety planning, and risk management (including SafeLives checklists).
  • Tenancy & Community Empowerment: Assist families in maintaining stable tenancies, securing home security enhancements, and building strong, lasting community support networks.
  • Multi-Agency Collaboration: Work closely with partner agencies, statutory providers, housing services, and criminal justice partners to ensure seamless support.
  • On-Call Support: Participate as part of a first-tier on-call rota to provide out-of-hours advice and support to colleagues handling urgent issues or emergencies.
  • Trauma-Informed Care: Deliver all support in alignment with a Psychologically Informed Environment (PIE) framework and a strengths-based ethos.

About You

We are looking for an empathetic, resilient team player with strong professional boundaries and a real commitment to safeguarding and equality.

Essential Requirements

  • Experience: Proven track record supporting individuals affected by domestic abuse and VAWDASV risks within a community or multi-agency setting.
  • Risk & Safety Expertise: Demonstrated ability to assess dynamic risks, construct robust safety plans, and work with law enforcement or criminal justice agencies.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, alongside strong IT literacy (MS Office, databases).
  • Licence & Mobility: A full UK driving licence with access to a reliable vehicle for travel across Monmouthshire.
  • Flexibility: Willingness to participate in the Tier 1 on-call rota.

Desirable Criteria

  • An IDVA qualification or equivalent.
  • Deep understanding of trauma-informed practice.
  • Ability to speak Welsh.

What We Offer

  • Competitive Annual Leave: 25 days per year plus statutory bank holidays, increasing annually up to 32 days.
  • Generous Pension Scheme: Up to an 8% employer contribution following successful probation.
  • Professional Growth: Structured supervision, reflective practice, and comprehensive training opportunities.
  • Work-Life Balance: Standard weekday working hours, with flexibility accommodated where service needs require.

How to Apply

If you are ready to bring your skills to a role where every day brings the opportunity to change lives for the better, we would love to hear from you.

Get in touch with Moesha at Moxie People for an informal chat.

** This post is restricted to female applicants only as an Occupational Requirement under Schedule 9 (Paragraph 1) of the Equality Act 2010, due to the sensitive nature of the service provided to survivors of domestic abuse.
