SEN Primary Teacher

Location: Princes Risborough

Salary: MPS / UPS

Contract: Full-time

Start Date: September 2026

Supply Desk are seeking a passionate and dedicated SEN Teacher to join a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Princes Risborough. This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic educator to make a real difference in the lives of children and young people with Special Educational Needs.

The successful candidate will deliver engaging, personalised and differentiated learning to pupils with a range of additional needs, supporting their academic progress, personal development and emotional wellbeing. You will play a key role in creating a positive classroom environment where every pupil feels valued, supported and encouraged to achieve their full potential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver differentiated and accessible lessons tailored to the individual learning needs of pupils.
  • Support pupils with a range of additional needs, including Physical Disabilities (PD), Hearing Impairments (HI) and Visual Impairments (VI).
  • Adapt teaching strategies, resources and classroom activities to ensure all pupils can access and engage with learning.
  • Support pupils with communication, mobility, sensory and physical needs within the classroom and wider school environment.
  • Create a safe, inclusive and accessible learning environment that promotes confidence and independence.
  • Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, therapists, specialist professionals, parents and external agencies.
  • Monitor pupil progress and contribute to individual learning plans, EHCP targets and relevant support strategies.
  • Promote positive behaviour, emotional wellbeing and the development of pupils' communication and social skills.
  • Encourage pupils to develop independence and life skills through personalised support and appropriate learning opportunities.

Requirements

  • Passionate about delivering high-quality, inclusive education and supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities.
  • Experience or understanding of supporting pupils with Physical Disabilities (PD), Hearing Impairments (HI) and/or Visual Impairments (VI).
  • BSL training or experience supporting pupils with hearing impairments would be desirable.
  • Committed to supporting pupils' academic, physical, social and emotional development.
  • A confident and adaptable classroom practitioner who can modify teaching approaches and resources to meet individual needs.
  • A strong communicator who works effectively as part of a wider school and specialist support team.
  • Able to build positive, trusting relationships with pupils, parents, carers and colleagues.
  • Professional, patient, reliable and resilient in their approach to teaching and supporting pupils with complex needs.
  • Dedicated to creating a safe, nurturing and accessible learning environment where every pupil feels valued and supported.
  • Committed to helping pupils achieve their individual potential while developing their confidence, independence and life skills.
