Legal CashierLocation: Castleford, West YorkshireSalary: Competitive, dependent on experienceJob Type: Full-Time | Office-based An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Legal Cashier to join a well-established and growing law firm. This is a fantastic role for someone with previous legal accounts experience who enjoys working in a busy, collaborative environment and takes pride in maintaining the highest levels of accuracy and compliance. You'll play a key role in the smooth running of the firm's finance function, ensuring compliance with the SRA Accounts Rules while supporting colleagues across the business with a wide range of legal accounting responsibilities.The Role As Legal Cashier, your responsibilities will include:

Processing client and office account payments, including BACS, CHAPS, Faster Payments and cheque transactions
Posting bills and maintaining accurate client and office ledgers
Processing bank transfers and daily banking activities
Assisting with month-end and year-end accounting procedures
Managing online banking transactions safely and accurately
Liaising with accountants and software providers where required
Handling purchase ledger, ledger write-offs, archiving and general accounts administration
Responding to internal and external finance queries in a professional and timely manner
Ensuring full compliance with the Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA) Accounts Rules
Supporting the Finance Manager with regulatory compliance and financial procedures
Delivering excellent internal client service to colleagues across the firm

About You We're keen to hear from candidates who have:

Previous experience working as a Legal Cashier within a law firm
A solid understanding of the SRA Accounts Rules
Excellent attention to detail and a high level of accuracy
Strong organisational and time management skills
The ability to prioritise workloads and meet deadlines
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
A proactive approach with the confidence to work independently and as part of a team
Good IT skills and experience using legal accounts software
