About Paul Rhodes Bakery
Founded by former Michelin-starred chef Paul Rhodes in
2003, Paul Rhodes Bakery has built a strong reputation as the go-to supplier of
quality handcrafted sourdoughs, cakes and pastries in the capital. Paul’s
ambition when he started the bakery was simple: to provide London’s busy chefs
with the best handcrafted bread, made from the finest ingredients possible and
traditional techniques.
Today, as the bakery heads towards twenty-five years in
business, the goal remains the same and this ambition underpins everything we
do. We have both a wholesale business supplying some of London’s top
restaurants, hotels, cafés, and entertainment venues, as well as our local
retail bakery shop which is based a ten minute walk up the road, in Greenwich
Market.
As we continue to grow, we are looking for talented
individuals to join our team and contribute to our success. At Paul Rhodes
Bakery, we believe in nurturing talent. By joining our company, you’ll have the
chance to work with experienced professionals, learn valuable skills, and be
part of a friendly, supportive environment
Role Overview:
We are seeking a dynamic and results-oriented Marketing
Manager – someone who can quickly understand the business, identify priorities,
and start putting clear plans and processes in place. We are looking for
someone to help strengthen and organise our marketing support, bring more
structure to our activity, and ensure our brand and communications are working
hard for the business. We need someone who can combine strategic thinking with
practical delivery, and who is comfortable working across a broad mix of brand,
content, communications, digital channels and sales support.
The role would suit someone who has worked in the food
industry and understands how to market to hospitality, foodservice and trade
customers, rather than purely consumer audiences.
Key responsibilities:
- Review
current marketing activity and identify priorities, gaps and quick wins
- Create
a clearer marketing plan and calendar across campaigns, launches and
seasonal activity
- Bring
structure and consistency to brand management, templates and marketing
assets
- Support
tone of voice development and ensure communications are on-brand
- Oversee
content planning across email, website and social channels
- Write
or edit marketing copy, including newsletters, customer communications,
product messaging and sales support materials
- Help
improve website content, updates and SEO
- Support
social media planning, content creation and scheduling
- Create
stronger processes for recurring marketing requests, such as image
requests, shop requests and ad hoc customer support materials
- Build
useful sales and account support tools, such as brochures, one-pagers,
presentations and launch materials
- Support
internal teams with clearer ways of working, templates and guidance
- Help
define what good looks like across marketing activity and reporting
Required Skills & Experience
- Proven
marketing experience in the food industry, ideally within bakery,
hospitality, foodservice or related sectors
- Experience
working in a hands-on standalone or small-team marketing role
- Strong
understanding of B2B marketing, ideally with experience supporting sales
teams and key accounts
- Ability
to move comfortably between strategy and execution
- Strong
copywriting and editing skills
- Experience
managing content across email, website and social channels
- Good
understanding of brand management and tone of voice
- Confident
organising multiple projects and creating structure where processes are
still developing
- Commercially
minded, practical and able to get things moving quickly
- Comfortable
working with a range of internal stakeholders
·
Experience producing customer-facing trade
materials and sales support tools
- Experience
supporting seasonal campaigns, new product launches or trade events
Personal Attributes
- Results-driven
- goal-oriented, with a strong track record of delivering against
marketing objectives.
- Collaborative
- able to work cross-functionally and build strong relationships with
internal teams and external partners.
- Organised
and proactive - comfortable working at pace, managing multiple priorities,
and bringing clarity and structure.
- Passionate
about the industry - a genuine interest in food and hospitality, with a
curiosity for trends, innovation and great customer experience.
This is a part-time role with flexibility on days and
hours, but we are looking for someone who can start immediately and make an
impact quickly.
