Job description

The Opportunity

Join Informed Solutions and help shape how our people learn, grow and thrive.

We're looking for an experienced People Development & Experience professional to lead the evolution of colleague development, employee experience and engagement across our growing organisation.

Working alongside consultants and business professionals delivering some of the UK's most impactful #tech4good digital transformation programmes, you'll play a key role in creating an environment where people can build rewarding careers, develop their capability and perform at their best.

As part of our People Services team, you'll work closely with leaders across the business to shape and deliver initiatives that strengthen leadership capability, colleague development, engagement and organisational effectiveness.

Working alongside our Learning & Development Advisor, you'll provide the direction and oversight for our development approach, ensuring our learning initiatives are aligned to business priorities and deliver meaningful outcomes, while the Advisor coordinates the day-to-day delivery and administration of learning activities.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys influencing others, improving how organisations develop their people and creating positive employee experiences, while remaining close enough to delivery to see ideas become reality.

About Us

Founded in 1992, Informed Solutions is an internationally recognised digital transformation consultancy.

We design and deliver innovative digital, data and technology solutions that enable organisations to modernise services, unlock insight from data and deliver better outcomes for citizens and customers.

Our multi-Queen's Award-winning platforms and services support globally recognised organisations across sectors including:

  • Civil Defence
  • Healthcare
  • Sustainable Environment
  • Land and Asset Management
  • Digital Democracy

Our work focuses on solving complex, real-world challenges where technology, data and human insight combine to deliver lasting impact.

About the Role

People are at the heart of everything we do.

As our People Development & Experience Lead, you'll be the subject matter lead for colleague development, employee experience and engagement, working closely with the Head of People Services to shape and continuously improve how we support our people.

You'll partner with leaders and managers across the organisation to identify capability needs, enhance colleague experience and embed initiatives that support career development, leadership capability and organisational effectiveness.

While this role contributes to the development of our people strategy, its primary focus is turning that strategy into practical, high-impact initiatives that make a measurable difference across the colleague lifecycle.

You'll also provide day-to-day guidance and support to our Learning & Development Advisor, helping ensure learning activity is coordinated effectively and aligned to wider organisational priorities.

Success in this role means creating engaging development opportunities, enabling managers to build high-performing teams, enhancing the colleague experience and using insight to continually improve how we develop and support our people.

  • Shape and oversee leadership and management development programmes, working alongside the Learning & Development Advisor to ensure effective delivery.
  • Lead the ongoing development of InformedACADEMY© and our wider development framework.

  • Partner with leaders and managers to identify capability needs and embed effective development initiatives.
  • Lead employee engagement, feedback and recognition initiatives that strengthen culture and colleague experience.
  • Identify opportunities to improve organisational capability, employee experience and overall effectiveness.
  • Evaluate the impact of development and engagement initiatives, using insight to inform future priorities.

HR Advisory & Stakeholder Support

  • Provide trusted HR advice across performance, development, wellbeing and employee experience matters.
  • Coach and support managers to develop confident, engaged and high-performing teams.
  • Build strong relationships across the organisation, providing practical guidance and constructive challenge where appropriate.
  • Support the consistent application of people policies, processes and best practice.

Continuous Improvement & Insight

  • Use employee feedback, engagement surveys and people data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
  • Translate insight into practical recommendations that improve colleague experience and organisational effectiveness.
  • Measure the effectiveness of development and engagement initiatives and recommend enhancements.
  • Contribute to wider People Services projects and organisational development initiatives.

Leadership & Collaboration

  • Act as the lead specialist for People Development & Experience within the People Services team.
  • Provide day-to-day guidance, coaching and support to the Learning & Development Advisor.
  • Work collaboratively across People Services to deliver a joined-up colleague experience.
  • Balance strategic thinking with a practical, delivery-focused approach to implementing improvements.
