Renewable Energy Sales Consultant (Solar PV, Battery & Heat Pumps)

Location: Helston, Cornwall (office-based)

Hours: Monday–Friday — full-time or part-time considered

Salary: £26,520 basic + uncapped commission

The role

As a Renewable Energy Sales Consultant, you’ll guide homeowners through their switch to cleaner, cheaper energy - from first enquiry to agreed proposal. Every project starts with a survey (F2F or Remote); you’ll then design and present a tailored solution for Solar PV, battery storage and heat pumps that helps the customer cut consumption, lower costs and reduce their carbon footprint.

No renewables experience? That's fine, as long as you can show us real sales ability or solid renewables knowledge. Motivated and good with people gets you noticed, but one of those two needs to be there too.

What you’ll be doing

• Handling inbound customer enquiries — answering questions, building trust and guiding customers through their journey.

• Representing GreenGen at occasional exhibitions and events to engage interested prospects.

• Surveying properties (a mix of face to face and remote) to understand the customers requirements and correct product fit.

• Designing tailored solutions by analysing survey data for Solar PV, battery and heat pump projects.

• Producing clear, compelling proposals (working alongside our experienced team as you learn our systems).

• Presenting options to customers and bringing the financial and carbon savings to life.

• Handling objections, agreeing terms and closing deals while always delivering real value.

• Keeping your knowledge sharp through ongoing internal and industry training.

What we’re looking for

• A natural communicator who builds rapport and earns trust quickly.

• A proactive, self-motivated attitude and a genuine drive to deliver results.

• The ability to interpret data and explain solutions simply and clearly.

• A passion for renewable energy and helping people make sustainable choices.

• Important: previous sales experience, or a background in construction, renewables or the trades. If you don't have direct experience, you'll need to show us strong sales instincts or a solid grasp of renewables
