£90–£120 per day (PAYE – no umbrella companies)

Teaching Personnel are working with a specialist Educational Learning Provision (ELP) in the South West London area who are looking for a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join their team in September.

This role involves supporting pupils with severe behavioural needs and Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) difficulties, helping them to engage positively with learning and develop the skills they need to succeed.

We are looking for compassionate, resilient, and proactive individuals who want the consistency, progression, and reward of working full-time in a supportive specialist setting where every child's well-being, development, and success are the priority.

The Role – Full-Time ELP Teaching Assistant

As a full-time Teaching Assistant within an Educational Learning Provision, you will play a vital role in supporting pupils with additional behavioural and emotional needs. Responsibilities include:

  • Supporting pupils on a 1:1 basis and in small groups to access learning and achieve individual targets

  • Building positive, trusting relationships with pupils to promote engagement and emotional regulation

  • Implementing behaviour support strategies and responding calmly and confidently to challenging behaviour

  • Working closely with teachers and the wider multidisciplinary team to support pupils' academic, social, and emotional development

  • Encouraging independence, resilience, and positive decision-making

  • Contributing to a safe, nurturing, and inclusive learning environment

  • Supporting with de-escalation techniques and behaviour management in line with school policies

  • Promoting safeguarding, well-being, and positive outcomes for all pupils

We Are Looking For Teaching Assistants Who:

  • Have experience supporting children or young people with SEMH, ASD, ADHD, or severe behavioural needs (school-based experience is desirable but not essential)

  • Are calm, patient, and resilient when working in challenging situations

  • Have strong behaviour management skills and can build positive relationships with pupils

  • Are passionate about supporting children with additional needs to achieve their full potential

  • Work well as part of a multidisciplinary team

  • Bring enthusiasm, professionalism, and a positive attitude to every day

  • Are fully committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
