Are you a compassionate and dedicated Complex Needs Teaching Assistant looking to make a meaningful difference in the lives of children and young people across East London?

Teaching Personnel is working in partnership with a wide range of mainstream schools, specialist provisions, SEND schools and alternative settings across Tower Hamlets, Newham, Barking & Dagenham, Redbridge, Waltham Forest, Hackney, Havering, Greenwich, Lewisham and surrounding boroughs. We are seeking enthusiastic professionals with experience supporting pupils with Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD), complex needs and non-verbal communication needs.

The Role

As a Complex Needs Teaching Assistant, you will:

• Provide tailored one-to-one and small-group support for pupils with complex learning difficulties.
• Support pupils with PMLD, Autism, sensory impairments and physical disabilities.
• Use alternative communication methods such as PECS, Makaton and visual communication systems.
• Assist with personal care, feeding and mobility where required.
• Support pupils to access learning activities and achieve their EHCP outcomes.
• Help create a safe, nurturing and inclusive learning environment.
• Work closely with teachers, therapists and other professionals to support pupil development.

Requirements

• Experience supporting children or young people with SEND, complex needs or disabilities.
• Understanding of PMLD, Autism and non-verbal communication needs.
• A patient, nurturing and proactive approach.
• Ability to build positive relationships with pupils, families and professionals.
• Willingness to support personal care where required.
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
