Are you a passionate and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant looking to make a positive impact in the lives of children and young people across East London?

Teaching Personnel is working in partnership with a wide range of mainstream schools, specialist provisions, SEND schools and alternative settings across Tower Hamlets, Newham, Barking & Dagenham, Redbridge, Waltham Forest, Hackney and Havering. We are seeking enthusiastic professionals to support pupils with additional needs within mainstream schools and Additionally Resourced Provisions (ARPs).

The Role

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will:

  • Provide one-to-one and small-group support for pupils with SEND.
  • Support children with Autism, Speech and Language Needs, ADHD and moderate learning difficulties.
  • Assist pupils in accessing the curriculum both within the mainstream classroom and ARP setting.
  • Implement EHCP targets and personalised support strategies.
  • Promote communication, social development and emotional wellbeing.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, therapists and families to support pupil progress.
  • Foster a safe, inclusive and engaging learning environment where every pupil can succeed.

Requirements

  • Experience working with children or young people with SEND.
  • Knowledge of Autism, ADHD, Speech and Language Needs or other additional learning needs.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
  • A patient, proactive and nurturing approach.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.
