Umbrella: £36.82 per hour\n

Working Pattern: Hybrid Working (2 days office-based, 3 days remote)\n

\n Service Care Solutions are currently recruiting for an experienced Senior Practitioner to join the Adults Social Care Team at Knowsley Borough Council. This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified social worker looking to take on a leadership role, supporting practitioners, promoting best practice, and driving service improvement within a busy local authority setting.\n
\n
\n Key Responsibilities\n
    \n
  • Provide supervision and support to Social Workers and Social Care Coordinators as directed by the Team Manager.
  • \n
  • Support and develop students on placement and Assessed and Supported Year in Employment (ASYE) practitioners.
  • \n
  • Deliver professional advice, guidance, and support in line with the Care Act 2014 and best practice standards.
  • \n
  • Lead and coordinate team learning through reflective supervision, coaching, mentoring, and co-working.
  • \n
  • Support colleagues with risk management planning and assessments, particularly in complex and high-risk situations.
  • \n
  • Undertake quality assurance activities, including audits of assessments, support plans, and case records.
  • \n
  • Work alongside the Safeguarding and Quality Improvement Service to identify learning and development needs.
  • \n
  • Contribute to practice development and service improvement initiatives.
  • \n
  • Promote legal literacy and provide expertise regarding key legislation, including:\n
      \n
    • Care Act 2014
    • \n
    • Mental Capacity Act 2005
    • \n
    • Mental Health Act 2007
    • \n
  • \n
  • Manage an appropriate caseload, including complex and high-risk cases where required.
  • \n
  • Chair and contribute to multi-agency meetings, including Strategy Meetings, MARAMs, and Best Interests Meetings.
  • \n
  • Ensure accurate and timely recording in accordance with professional and organisational standards.
  • \n
  • Maintain continuous professional development and specialist expertise aligned to service needs.
  • \n
Requirements\n
    \n
  • Qualified Social Worker with current Social Work England registration.
  • \n
  • Substantial experience within Adult Social Care.
  • \n
  • Strong working knowledge of relevant legislation and statutory responsibilities.
  • \n
  • Experience supporting, supervising, or mentoring social care professionals.
  • \n
  • Ability to manage complex cases and provide professional leadership.
  • \n
  • Excellent communication, assessment, and decision-making skills.
  • \n
Desirable\n
    \n
  • Approved Mental Health Professional (AMHP) qualification and registration.
  • \n
  • Best Interests Assessor (BIA) qualification.
  • \n
  • Practice Educator qualification.
  • \n
  • Willingness to undertake additional professional qualifications in line with service requirements.
  • \n
