Retention Improvement Officer Reference: 000156 | Closing Date: Sunday 26th July | Interview Date: 3/8/2026 Salary: Band 8 £23, 940 (Pro Rata £11,788) Term time only Number of Positions: 1 Contract Type: Permanent, Term Time Only | Hours per Week: 20 hours | Location: City Skills About the Role Do you believe that education has the power to transform lives? This is a rewarding role for someone who is passionate about helping students overcome barriers to attendance and engagement, ensuring they have every opportunity to succeed in their studies and achieve their potential. As a key member of the team, you will monitor attendance and retention, build positive relationships with students, parents and carers, and work closely with teaching and support staff to identify concerns early and implement strategies that improve student participation and success. The role requires excellent communication skills, strong attention to detail, confidence in handling data and records, and a genuine commitment to supporting young people. We are seeking someone who can combine empathy with professionalism, enjoy problem‑solving, be proactive in following up concerns, and understand that regular attendance can be life‑changing for students.
