Location: Hazlemere

Contract: Full-time

Salary: MPS / UPS

Start Date: September 2026

About the Role

Are you a passionate and dedicated SEN Teacher looking for your next opportunity? We are seeking an enthusiastic SEN Teacher to join a welcoming and inclusive school in Hazlemere, where you'll play a key role in supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs and helping them achieve their academic, personal and social potential.

The successful candidate will deliver engaging, personalised and differentiated learning tailored to the individual needs of pupils. Working closely with colleagues and wider professionals, you will help create a positive and supportive learning environment where every pupil feels valued, encouraged and empowered to develop their confidence, independence and skills.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop positive and trusting relationships with pupils, supporting their communication, confidence, emotional wellbeing and personal development.
• Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons that are adapted to meet a range of individual learning needs.
• Support pupils with SEN needs such as; Speech, Language and Communication Needs (SLCN), Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.
• Use a range of teaching approaches, communication strategies, resources and interventions to promote pupil engagement and progress.
• Create a calm, structured and inclusive learning environment where pupils feel safe, supported and able to learn.
• Adapt communication and learning strategies to support pupils with speech, language and communication difficulties.
• Monitor, assess and record pupil progress, contributing to EHCP targets and individual support plans.
• Work closely with teaching assistants, parents, therapists and other professionals to provide consistent support.
• Encourage pupils to develop their independence, communication, social skills, confidence and emotional regulation.
• Promote positive behaviour through consistent, nurturing and appropriate strategies.

Requirements

• Passionate about delivering high-quality, inclusive education and supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs.
• Experience or understanding of supporting pupils with Speech, Language and Communication Needs (SLCN), Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.
• BSL training or experience supporting pupils with communication needs would be desirable.
• Committed to supporting pupils academically, socially and emotionally.
• A confident and adaptable classroom practitioner who can differentiate learning to meet a range of individual needs.
• A strong communicator who works effectively as part of a wider school and support team.
• Able to build positive, trusting relationships with pupils, parents, carers and colleagues.
• Professional, patient, reliable and resilient in their approach to teaching and supporting pupils.
• Dedicated to creating a safe, nurturing and inclusive classroom where every pupil feels valued and supported.
• Committed to helping pupils achieve their individual potential while developing their confidence, communication, independence and life skills.
