The Learning and Development (L&D) team plays a key role in supporting this workforce through targeted training, development and skills programmes that strengthen capability, improve compliance and promote career progression. The Trainer will deliver learning and development activities across all Soft FM sites. This includes facilitating training sessions, coordinating logistics, supporting course development,
maintaining accurate compliance records, and evaluating outcomes. The post holder will work as part of the central Resourcing and L&D function, ensuring that Soft FM staff receive consistent, high-quality training that supports fairness, inclusion and operational excellence across the Trust.
Main duties of the job
Training delivery and coordination
Plan, organise and deliver high-quality training across all Soft FM service areas, including classroom and on the-job learning aligned to L&D priorities and the Trust’s Workforce Strategy. Support the development of training materials, toolkits and e-learning content to reflect operational needs. Maintain and coordinate the training calendar, ensuring mandatory and role-specific training is delivered on time. Evaluate training sessions, gather feedback and use insights to improve quality and relevance. Deliver specialist training, including BICSc and other accredited or internal programmes.
Administration and compliance
Maintain accurate training records across systems, ensuring compliance data is complete and up to date. Monitor training completion rates, escalating risks or gaps to the Development Manager. Manage bookings,
attendance tracking, room setup and post-course documentation. Contribute to compliance reporting, audits and internal reviews.
Learning and development support
Work with the Development Manager and Resourcing team to deliver training initiatives and continuous improvement. Support the induction and development of trainers and subject matter experts, promoting
WeCare values.
General
Communicate effectively with stakeholders across all levels, building strong working relationships. Ensure all activity complies with Trust policies and health and safety requirements. Maintain professional knowledge and participate in development activities. Support training delivery across Trust sites and undertake additional duties as required.
