Human Resources Manager

Byfleet | Hybrid Working (1 Day Per Week in the Office)

Immediate Start Required

About:

We're supporting a well-established organisation operating within the education and technology sector that is looking to appoint an experienced Human Resources Manager on an initial 12-month fixed-term contract. This is a broad, standalone HR role with genuine influence across the business, supporting senior leadership whilst driving operational HR excellence, employee engagement and people development.

The position has been created to strengthen the people function during a period of growth and change. Working closely with the leadership team, you'll lead the full employee lifecycle, provide expert guidance on employee relations, recruitment and learning & development, whilst helping to shape HR policies, improve processes and build a positive, high-performing culture.

The Role

Reporting directly into senior leadership, you'll take ownership of the day-to-day HR function whilst partnering with managers across the organisation to provide proactive, commercial HR support.

This is a varied, hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys balancing operational HR delivery with continuous improvement and people-focused initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the full employee lifecycle, from recruitment and onboarding through to performance management and offboarding.
  • Provide expert advice and guidance on employee relations matters, including absence, performance, disciplinary and grievance cases.
  • Partner with hiring managers to deliver an efficient recruitment process and excellent candidate experience.
  • Identify learning and development needs, creating and delivering training initiatives across the business.
  • Review, update and implement HR policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with current employment legislation and best practice.
  • Manage the HR system, maintaining accurate employee records and producing meaningful HR reporting and insights.
  • Drive employee engagement, wellbeing and recognition initiatives to support a positive workplace culture.
  • Support performance management, succession planning and organisational development.
  • Coach and advise managers on people matters, helping to build capability across the business.
  • Contribute to wider HR projects and continuous improvement initiatives.

In an Ideal World, We Are Looking For:

  • CIPD qualified (or equivalent experience) with a proven background in a HR Advisor or HR Manager role.
  • Strong employee relations experience, confidently managing performance, absence, disciplinary and grievance cases.
  • Experience delivering the full employee lifecycle, including recruitment, onboarding and learning & development.
  • Confident partnering with managers and influencing stakeholders at all levels across the business.
  • Previous experience leading, coaching or developing HR team members.
  • Highly organised, proactive and comfortable managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong working knowledge of UK employment law, GDPR and Microsoft Office, with excellent communication skills.

Why Join?

This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing organisation where you'll have genuine ownership of the HR function and the chance to influence people strategy across the business. Initially offered as a 12-month fixed-term contract, there is a strong opportunity for the role to become permanent for the right individual.
