SEMH Teaching Assistant - St. Albans

Education and Training | £460-£500 per week

A welcoming and inclusive school in St. Albans is seeking a compassionate and dedicated SEMH Teaching Assistant to join their supportive team. As an SEMH Teaching Assistant, you'll play a vital role in supporting pupils who require additional emotional and behavioural support throughout the school day. You'll work closely with teachers and pastoral staff to provide a safe, consistent, and nurturing environment where every child can thrive.

* Social, emotional and mental health needs * Anxiety and difficulties with emotional regulation * Behavioural and attachment-related challenges * Low confidence and self-esteem * Communication and social interaction difficulties * Trauma-related needs

Role of an SEMH Teaching Assistant:

* Support pupils in accessing learning both inside and outside the classroom * Promote positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing * Build strong, trusting relationships with pupils * Encourage resilience, confidence, and independence * Support pupils with emotional regulation and social development * Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, pastoral teams, and parents where appropriate * Help create a calm, inclusive, and supportive learning environment
