Job description
Job Title: Paediatric Neonatal Dysphagia Speech and Language Therapist Banding: Band 6 / 7 Location: North West of England Start Date: ASAP Rate:£24.00 – £32.00 per hour Working Hours: Full-time or Part-time (flexible) Job Overview We are currently seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Paediatric Neonatal Dysphagia Speech and Language Therapist to join a specialist healthcare service in the North West of England. This role focuses on supporting neonates and infants with complex feeding and swallowing difficulties, delivering high-quality, evidence-based dysphagia assessment and intervention. This opportunity is suitable for an experienced Band 6 therapist looking to develop specialist skills, or a Band 7 clinician with established expertise in neonatal and infant feeding. You will work closely within a multidisciplinary team to support some of the most vulnerable patients and their families, ensuring safe and effective feeding outcomes. Key Responsibilities In this role, you will: * Assess, diagnose, and manage neonatal and paediatric dysphagia, including complex feeding and swallowing difficulties. * Deliver specialist infant feeding and dysphagia assessments in neonatal and paediatric settings. * Develop and implement individualised treatment and management plans in collaboration with families and multidisciplinary teams. * Provide clinical advice, training, and support to colleagues and carers where appropriate. * Maintain accurate, timely, and comprehensive clinical records in line with professional and organisational standards. * Participate in multidisciplinary meetings, case reviews, and service development initiatives. Qualifications and Experience To be considered for this role, you must have: * A recognised degree in Speech and Language Therapy (or equivalent). * HCPC registration and eligibility for membership of the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists (RCSLT). * Proven experience in paediatric neonatal dysphagia and/or infant feeding. * Relevant postgraduate training or qualifications in dysphagia assessment for neonates and infants. * Strong clinical reasoning, communication, and interpersonal skills. * A proactive, flexible, and reflective approach to clinical practice.
