Job summary
We are seeking to recruit a substantive, full-time, accredited Pain Consultant to join our department at the Bedfordshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. The job is primarily based at the Luton and Dunstable University Hospital with the possibility and opportunity to cover some pain services at the Bedford Hospital site.

The successful candidate will provide clinical services in anaesthesia and perioperative care with a larger and significant participation in delivering clinical care in the Integrated Pain Service including Inpatient Pain, Outpatient Chronic Pain clinics and intervention injection lists in a team-based approach with flexibility of on calls and weekend work with mutual agreement and service demand requirements

Luton and Dunstable hospital is located within easy access to central London and the Midlands. London Luton Airport is within fifteen minutes' drive from the hospital. There are many attractive villages and towns nearby like St Albans and Harpenden which has excellent schools.

Main duties of the job
The service uniquely offers a job planned weekly participation in integrated spinal multidisciplinary meetings constituting pain physicians, spinal surgeons, musculoskeletal radiologists, extended scope physiotherapists and other allied health professionals in addition to a weekly complex pain MDT comprising pain physicians, specialist pain nurses, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, clinical psychologist, pain administrator and other team members that encompasses clinical triage and service development discussions. In addition, there is an opportunity to actively participate in departmental educational, audit and clinical governance framework.
