Supply Nursery Practitioner / SEN Teaching Assistant – Waltham Forest

Are you looking for flexible education work that fits around your availability?

We are recruiting enthusiastic Nursery Practitioners, Teaching Assistants, and SEN Support Staff for daily supply and short-term opportunities across Waltham Forest.

We work with a variety of welcoming nurseries, mainstream schools, and specialist SEN settings, offering flexible opportunities to support children’s learning, development, and wellbeing.

The Role

You will support children’s learning and development by:

  • Assisting teachers and nursery staff with daily activities and routines.

  • Supporting children through play-based and engaging learning.

  • Providing 1:1 and small group support.

  • Supporting children with SEN, including Autism (ASD), ADHD, SEMH, and communication needs.

  • Promoting positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing.

  • Creating a safe, inclusive, and nurturing environment.

  • Supporting personal care where required.

Requirements

  • Previous experience working with children in a nursery, school, or childcare setting.

  • Experience supporting children with SEN is desirable.

  • A caring, patient, and adaptable approach.

  • Understanding of safeguarding and child development.

  • Right to work in the UK.

  • Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one).

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
