Site Manager | Building Safety & Decarbonisation

Location: Ashford Kent

Salary: Competitive + Package

Synergize is one of the UK's leading specialists in refurbishment, planned maintenance and building remediation, delivering high-quality projects across both the public and private sectors. Since 2004, we've built our reputation on delivering complex programmes safely, efficiently and to the highest standards, with expertise spanning planned maintenance, refurbishment, external wall remediation, building safety and energy efficiency improvements.

Today, Synergize forms part of Grosvenor House Group, a family of specialist businesses delivering innovative construction, compliance and property solutions across the UK.

As our Building Safety & Decarbonisation division continues to grow, we're looking for an experienced Site Manager to oversee the safe and successful delivery of retrofit and decarbonisation projects, ensuring exceptional standards of quality, compliance and customer service throughout.

ABOUT THE ROLE

As Site Manager, you'll take day-to-day responsibility for managing retrofit and decarbonisation projects on site, ensuring works are delivered safely, efficiently and in line with programme, quality and compliance requirements.

Working closely with the Project Manager and wider delivery team, you'll coordinate subcontractors, direct labour and suppliers while maintaining excellent relationships with residents, clients and stakeholders. You'll play a key role in ensuring projects meet PAS 2030/2035 standards, Building Regulations and client expectations.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys leading from the front, takes pride in delivering quality projects and wants to be part of a growing business operating at the forefront of Building Safety and Decarbonisation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage projects from site mobilisation through to completion, handover and final snagging.
  • Coordinate subcontractors, direct labour and suppliers to ensure programme milestones are achieved.
  • Ensure all works are carried out safely and in accordance with approved RAMS and company procedures.
  • Monitor progress, quality, productivity and programme performance across multiple workstreams.
  • Carry out quality inspections and ensure works comply with PAS 2030/2035, TrustMark, Building Regulations and client specifications.
  • Maintain comprehensive site documentation including daily diaries, inductions, toolbox talks, permits, QA records and photographic evidence.
  • Identify and escalate programme, quality or commercial risks at the earliest opportunity.
  • Support resident engagement by ensuring clear communication, safe working practices and minimal disruption.
  • Attend client meetings, site inspections and audits, providing accurate progress updates.
  • Ensure materials are stored, handled and installed in accordance with manufacturer guidance.
  • Work closely with the commercial team to support valuations, variations and project completion.
  • Promote a positive site culture focused on safety, professionalism and right-first-time delivery.
  • Drive continuous improvement by identifying lessons learned and sharing best practice across the business.

ABOUT YOU

We're looking for an experienced Site Manager with a strong background in refurbishment, retrofit or decarbonisation projects who enjoys managing people, solving problems and delivering quality outcomes.

You'll have excellent organisational skills, a proactive approach to Health & Safety and a commitment to delivering exceptional customer service throughout every stage of the project.

You'll ideally have:

  • Proven experience as a Site Manager within refurbishment, retrofit, planned maintenance or decarbonisation projects.
  • Experience delivering projects within occupied residential properties or live environments.
  • Strong understanding of retrofit measures including insulation, roofing, ventilation, windows, heating systems and renewable technologies.
  • Good working knowledge of PAS 2030 and PAS 2035 delivery requirements.
  • Experience managing subcontractors and coordinating multiple trades on site.
  • Excellent quality assurance and site documentation skills.
  • Strong knowledge of Health & Safety legislation and safe systems of work.
  • The ability to identify issues early and implement practical solutions.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Full UK Driving Licence.

WHY JOIN SYNERGIZE?

At Synergize, you'll be joining a business that's helping transform homes and buildings across the UK through Building Safety and Decarbonisation programmes.

We believe our people are our greatest asset and are committed to providing an environment where you can develop your career whilst working on meaningful, technically challenging projects.

In return, we offer:

  • Competitive salary
  • Company Car or Car Allowance
  • Company benefits package
  • Opportunities for career progression within a growing business
  • Ongoing training and professional development
  • The opportunity to work on nationally significant Building Safety & Decarbonisation projects
  • A collaborative, supportive and forward-thinking team culture
