Job description
Position: Head of FM and Capital Projects (Interim) Bexley 16 Location: Civic Offices, 2 Watling Street, Bexleyheath, DA6 7AT Start Date: ASAP Contract Duration: 6+ Months - 3 days on site requirement Working Hours: 37 hours per week Pay Rate: PAYE: £ 500.00 per day Job Reference: OR(phone number removed) Job Responsibilities Lead and manage the Council's Facilities Management (FM) strategy, governance, and service delivery. Oversee FM operations, contract management, procurement, and compliance with Council policies. Develop and implement property maintenance strategies to ensure assets are safe, compliant, and well maintained. Ensure statutory inspections, risk assessments, and remedial works are completed in line with legislative and regulatory requirements. Drive energy efficiency, lifecycle maintenance, and net zero carbon initiatives across the property portfolio. Develop and maintain effective FM arrangements for all Council and partner-occupied buildings. Procure, manage, and monitor FM contractors and specialist service providers, ensuring quality, value for money, and delivery within budget and timescales. Provide strategic advice and reports to senior leadership, Members, and stakeholders on property and facilities matters.
