We are looking for a proactive and experienced Streetworks Inspector to join the Highways and Network Management Team.
This is a predominantly remote and field-based role, requiring regular travel across the borough/network to carry out inspections of streetworks and highway activities. You will spend the majority of your time on-site, monitoring works, identifying defects, ensuring compliance with legislation, and working collaboratively with utility companies, contractors, and other stakeholders.
The successful candidate will play a key role in protecting the highway asset, ensuring public safety, and minimising disruption caused by street and roadworks.
Key Responsibilities
Carry out inspections of streetworks and roadworks undertaken by statutory undertakers and contractors.
Identify, record, and raise defects in accordance with relevant legislation, codes of practice, and local procedures.
Monitor compliance with permit conditions, safety requirements, and reinstatement standards.
Investigate customer complaints and reports relating to streetworks activities.
Liaise with utility companies, contractors, developers, and internal departments to resolve issues and improve compliance.
