The Opportunity

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Cover Teacher to join a welcoming and supportive secondary school in the Shaftesbury area from September 2026. This is a full-time, long-term position with the potential to become permanent for the right candidate.

The school is seeking a confident and adaptable teacher who can deliver high-quality lessons across a range of subjects, maintain strong classroom management, and support students in achieving their full potential.

This role would suit a qualified teacher, Early Career Teacher (ECT), or experienced educator looking for a long-term teaching opportunity within a supportive school environment.

The Role

As a Cover Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering pre-planned lessons across various subjects, ensuring continuity of learning during staff absence. You will create a positive and engaging classroom environment, manage behaviour effectively, and support students in their academic progress.

You will become an integral part of the school community and work closely with teaching and pastoral teams to maintain high standards of teaching and learning.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver pre-planned lessons across a range of subjects and year groups
• Maintain a positive, productive, and inclusive classroom environment
• Manage student behaviour in line with the school's policies
• Support students to remain engaged and make progress in their learning
• Provide feedback to teaching staff following lessons

Person Specification

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is desirable
