Bank Support Worker (Recovery)

Linwood House, Barnsley
£12.71 per hour
Flexible shifts on a zero-hours contract

About the Role

As a Bank Support Worker at Linwood House, you'll provide vital care and assistance to our clients and working as part of a dedicated team, you'll help create a safe, structured, and supportive environment that fosters recovery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide practical and emotional support to clients, guiding them towards an abstinent lifestyle.
  • Assist therapists in risk management planning and reviews.
  • Ensure clients follow programme guidelines and support investigations into any breaches, including substance testing.
  • Complete client intakes, assessments, and discharges efficiently.
  • Maintain accurate records and update client databases.
  • Coordinate transfers and referrals between agencies and support services.
  • Assist clients with medication reminders and conduct audits.
  • Help individuals develop recovery plans tailored to their needs.
  • Support clients with external appointments, providing transport assistance where necessary.
  • Assist with life skills development, including housing, benefits, and daily living support.

What We're Looking For

Desirable skills & experience:

  • NVQ Level 2 in Health & Social Care (or equivalent).
  • Strong organisational and time management skills.
  • Clear verbal and written communication at all levels.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in Word, Outlook, and Excel.
  • Excellent listening skills with an empathetic approach.
  • Strong negotiation and boundary-setting abilities.
  • A calm, non-judgmental attitude, even under pressure.
  • Good customer service skills.
