Job description

Learning Support Practitioner – Complex Needs School – Rainham | September Start

Are you passionate about supporting children and young people with complex additional needs to develop their independence, confidence, and life skills?

We are working with a specialist complex needs school in Rainham that is looking to appoint a caring and dedicated Learning Support Practitioner to join their supportive team from September.

This specialist school supports pupils with a range of complex needs, providing a nurturing, inclusive, and personalised learning environment where every child is encouraged to achieve their individual goals. The school focuses on developing communication, independence, sensory awareness, and essential life skills while ensuring each pupil receives the support they need to thrive.

As a Learning Support Practitioner, you will work closely with teachers, therapists, and support staff to provide high-quality, individualised support throughout the school day. You will assist pupils with their learning, communication, sensory activities, personal care, and mobility needs, helping to create a safe and engaging environment where every pupil can make progress.

The ideal candidate will:

  • Have experience supporting children or young people with complex SEND needs, Autism, SLD, PMLD, or physical/sensory needs
  • Be caring, patient, and compassionate
  • Be comfortable supporting pupils with personal care, mobility, and medical needs where required
  • Have a genuine passion for helping young people develop independence and confidence
  • Be able to build positive and trusting relationships with pupils, families, and colleagues
  • Work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team

This is a rewarding opportunity to join a welcoming specialist school where you can make a meaningful difference in the lives of children and young people every day. The school provides a supportive working environment, ongoing training, and opportunities for professional development within specialist education.

If you are looking for a fulfilling role where you can positively impact pupils’ lives and support them to reach their full potential, we would love to hear from you.

All applicants will require the appropriate qualifications and training for this role. Please see the FAQs on the Protocol Education website for further details.
