Job description
School Attendance Officer | ASAP Start | Torquay, Devon Supportive, professional, and dedicated to student participation. A picturesque and welcoming school in Torquay is looking for a Attendance Officer to join them as soon as possible . This role is perfect for someone with a background in social work, policing, or school administration who enjoys working directly with the community to achieve positive outcomes. The Snapshot Location: Torquay, Devon (Easy access from Paignton and Newton Abbot) Salary: £24,000 – £27,500 (dependent on experience) Contract: Permanent, Term-time only Start Date: Immediate Detailed Responsibilities Frontline Response: Responding to "missing in education" alerts and working quickly to locate students who are not in school without a prior notification. Home-School Liaison: Building strong, trusting relationships with "hard-to-reach" families to improve the school's reputation and engagement levels. In-School Support: Working with the SENCO to ensure students with additional needs have the necessary adjustments to facilitate their attendance. Record Keeping: Maintaining meticulous notes on all parental contact and home visits to ensure a clear audit trail for the Local Authority.
