Job descriptionWanted: Monday to Friday Only! We’re looking for a positive vet with a growth mindset. If this role sounds like you, we’d love to hear from you. * Fantastic opportunity for a vet with over 2 years of experience to join our standalone practice. * Development opportunity to become a Senior Vet, guiding and mentoring junior colleagues with full clinical freedom. * Key role in maintaining high clinical standards. * We support certifications and CPD to help colleagues achieve career goals. * Flexible rostering and consideration for part‑time arrangements to support colleague wellbeing. * You’ll be supported by an experienced clinical team. * We are working toward zero‑pain accreditation – your support will be vital. * Salary up to £65,000 (FTE). * Extra day off for your birthday. * No weekends. * Enhanced holidays from day 1. About Us Halesowen Vets for Pets is a locally owned, standalone practice in Halesowen. The practice has been run for over eight years by owners Michelle and Ian, both seasoned surgeons. Our veteran team is supported by a highly skilled nurse led by our Head Nurse, a VCA, client care advisors and a practice manager (RVN). The Practice Located in the heart of the community, we handle a varied caseload of insured small animals, mainly cats and dogs, with occasional rabbits and other small, furry animals. We are equipped with advanced tools including dental x‑ray, laparoscopy, endoscopy, Kyon TPLO, harmonic scalpel and K‑laser. Most cases are managed in‑house, but we are within 45 min of a quality referral hospital. We encourage and fund certificates and support the development of individual interests. We are currently pursuing zero‑pain accreditation; an interest in this area would be advantageous. What Your Day Looks Like The clinic operates 8 am–7 pm on weekdays, closed on weekends. Bank holidays are worked on a rota basis. Each veterinarian receives at least one operation day per week. Standard consults last 15 minutes, with 30 minute slots for specific appointments. On‑the‑day and emergency appointments are available, with catch‑up slots every 60‑90 minutes and time allocated for phone calls. We prioritise work‑life balance, offering a somewhat flexible rota. Generally, you will have a weekday off each week and an early finish on Friday at least one out of three. Time is allocated for finishing notes. About You The ideal candidate is proactive, possesses good surgical and medical skills or a desire to develop them, and provides quality consultation to our clients and their pets. You should exhibit enthusiasm for the role, care for animal welfare, positivity, a good sense of humor and a growth mindset. Our Offer * Salary up to £65,000 (FTE) based on experience. * Flexible hours. * Generous CPD allowance including certificates – encouraged and supported. * Paid memberships. * Enhanced annual leave: 6.6 weeks from day 1. * Day‑paid leave for your birthday. * Enhanced pension contribution from employer. * Contributory private health care.
