Position Senior Clinical Pharmacist Renal Disease within our Pharmacy Department based at University Hospital Crosshouse. Hours And Shift Pattern 36 hours/week. In accordance with AFC terms and conditions you may be required to work over 7 days and/or an extended working day. You will be required to participate in departmental rotas including weekends and extended hours. This post is offered on a permanent basis. What You Will Do * Provide clinical leadership to a small team of specialist pharmacists and a specialist pharmacy technician within a multidisciplinary team. * Deliver clinical pharmacy services to renal outpatients, dialysis patients and inpatients, including renal high‑dependency patients. * Act as an independent prescriber within the specialty, managing a caseload of patients in areas such as anaemia and polycystic kidney disease. * Support the development of prescribing activity within renal medicine and mentor other pharmacist prescribers. * Lead medicines governance, develop prescribing guidance, introduce the West of Scotland formulary and monitor the renal prescribing budget. * Travel within acute sites of NHS Ayrshire & Arran to support the renal unit at University Hospital Ayr. Knowledge, Training And/Or Experience Required * Registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council. * Holder of a Postgraduate Diploma in Clinical Pharmacy or completion of the RPS Core Advanced Curriculum (or evidence of significant progress or equivalent clinical knowledge).
