Job descriptionOverview Registered Veterinary Nurse – 12-month maternity cover in Windermere. Full-time, fixed-term contract (35 hours per week over 5 days). Start in September/October this year. The Role * Salary £26K–£30K depending on experience * Full-time – 35 hours per week over 5 days * 12-month fixed-term maternity cover * Supportive, collaborative team environment * One night on-call during the week plus a share of the out-of-hours Sunday rota (typically 1 in 4). An on-call retainer is paid, with overtime for any call-outs. Alongside a varied caseload of theatre nursing, inpatient care, consultations, laboratory work, radiography and dentistry, the out-of-hours work provides valuable exposure to emergency cases, allowing nurses to build confidence, expand clinical skills and enjoy a diverse and rewarding nursing role. The Practice is RCVS accredited, with a fully equipped operating theatre, dental radiography, ultrasound and in-house laboratory. Our Animal Rehabilitation Centre has a state-of-the-art underwater treadmill, K-laser and offers physiotherapy, massage and acupuncture. The team includes 8 veterinary surgeons with 4 certificates in specialist areas, and nursing duties are predominantly small animal with regular referral work in orthopaedics, soft tissue and regenerative medicine.
