About the Role We are looking to appoint a Learning Support Practitioners to contribute to the delivery of our Additional Learning Support (ALS) provision for learners who have Special Educational Needs and Disabilities. The purpose of the role is to support individual or small groups of learners in the achievement of their learning goals and the development of independent life and employability skills. A Learning Support Practitioner may also support learners with communication, behavioural & emotional difficulties and social anxiety. Learning Support Practitioners will aim to work with learners to develop independent study skills and strategies to assist in their own learning. The purpose of our provision is to develop independent, confident, and resilient learners who are well-prepared to engage with the wider community. A commitment to inclusive learning and a willingness to gain an understanding of students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) is essential, as is a sensitive and caring approach to learners and trainees. Literacy and numeracy qualifications, or a willingness to work towards Level 2 are essential (we will provide and fund your qualification(s) with us).
