Herdsperson – Robotic Dairy Farm - Devon - £32,500 – £40,000 + Accommodation
The Job:
We are recruiting for an experienced Herdsperson on behalf of a progressive dairy farm in Devon. This is an excellent opportunity to join a modern dairy enterprise operating a robotic milking system. Working as part of a dedicated team, you will play a key role in maintaining herd health, welfare and productivity while supporting the day to day running of the farm.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the daily care, health and welfare of the dairy herd
- Monitor and manage the robotic milking system, ensuring efficient cow flow and performance
- Support breeding programmes, heat detection, AI and calving activities
- Administer medicines and maintain accurate herd health and production records
- Assist with feeding, nutrition, hygiene, biosecurity and farm assurance standards
- Carry out general livestock and farm duties to support the smooth running of the dairy operation

The Candidate:
- Previous experience as a Herdsperson or within a commercial dairy farming environment
- Strong knowledge of dairy herd health, welfare, breeding and general herd management
- Experience with robotic milking systems (Lely, DeLaval or GEA) or a willingness to develop these skills
- Reliable, hardworking and able to work independently as well as part of a team
- Good organisational skills with the ability to maintain accurate herd records
- Full UK driving licence preferred

- Salary £32,500 - £40,000 per annum DOE

Candidate Requirements
All applicants must hold a minimum of an NVQ Level 2, Scottish NVQ Level 2, or an equivalent qualification relevant to the role applied for. Candidates must also have the legal right to work in the UK or hold a valid visa permitting employment.
