Job Description

Brain Injury Support Worker (Female Driver)

Local Community Role

Part Time with Opportunity to Progress to Nights

Immediate Start Available

• £14.00 per hour for weekday shifts (Monday to Friday)

• £16.00 per hour for all weekend shifts

We are currently recruiting an experienced and compassionate Brain Injury Support Worker to provide one-to-one support for a 42-year-old gentleman living at home with his mother.

This is a unique opportunity to become part of a small, dedicated care team providing companionship, reassurance and day-to-day support to a gentleman living with an acquired brain injury and epilepsy. While personal care and medication are managed by his mother, your role will focus on providing consistent support, encouraging engagement and maintaining a safe, structured environment.

His mother has cared for him for many years and has created a well-established daily routine. We are looking for someone who will respect this routine, work collaboratively with the family and provide reliable support that allows his mother valuable periods of respite.

The Role

Working alongside another member of the care team, your responsibilities will include:

• Providing companionship and emotional support throughout the day

• Spending quality time with the client through conversation and meaningful activities

• Supporting a calm, safe and structured environment

• Following established routines and care instructions precisely

• Working closely alongside family members and other support staff

• Remaining observant and responding appropriately to any changes in the client's wellbeing

• Maintaining a professional standard at all times within the family home

This is a companionship-led role rather than a personal care position, although previous care experience is essential.

Shift Pattern

Current shifts include:

• Morning: 7:45am – 3:00pm

• Afternoon: 3:00pm – 8:00pm

• Three shifts per week

• Opportunity to progress into waking night shifts

Pay & Benefits

• £14.00 per hour for weekday shifts (Monday to Friday)

• £16.00 per hour for all weekend shifts, including both day and waking night support

• Time and a half paid for all Bank Holiday hours worked

Professional Standards

The family maintains high clinical standards within the home, and all team members are expected to:

• Wear full PPE throughout each shift

• Change into uniform on arrival

• Follow strict hygiene and infection control procedures

• Respect household routines and boundaries

• Remain fully engaged with the client throughout the shift

• Refrain from using mobile phones whilst providing care and support

Recruitment Process

We are looking to recruit as quickly as possible.

The recruitment process includes:

• Initial telephone conversation with the Clinical Director

• Submission of a short professional profile outlining your experience

• A brief introductory video

• Profile shared with the client's social worker

• Meet and greet with the family before commencing employment

If you have experience supporting individuals with acquired brain injuries and are looking for a rewarding role where you can make a genuine difference to one person's quality of life, we'd love to hear from you.
