Job Purpose

UHE UK offers undergraduate programmes in collaboration with the University of Roehampton. Its courses are delivered through a blended approach that supports non-traditional students who require flexibility in their studies.

The postholder will lead and deliver multiple Level 4, 30-credit modules across the Business and Economics disciplines, specifically "Introduction to Accounting and Finance" and "The Global Economy". They will be responsible for building students’ subject knowledge ranging from financial literacy and Excel modelling to global market dynamics and economic policy.



Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • Coordinate module delivery across multiple modules, ensuring a consistent, high-quality learning and assessment experience.
  • Develop, review and update teaching materials and Moodle resources for both Accounting/Finance and Global Economy contexts.
  • Design and implement blended learning strategies that utilize current technology to provide students with a varied and purposeful experience.
  • Provide academic guidance to tutors and maintain alignment between learning outcomes and assessment requirements.
  • Organise internal moderation and standardisation meetings across the assigned modules.
  • Oversee module evaluations and contribute to curriculum enhancement.
  • Teach lectures and workshops (face-to-face and online) using interactive, student-centred, and case-based approaches.
  • Maintain accurate records, ensuring compliance with institutional policies, GDPR, and academic regulations.

Discipline-Specific Responsibilities

  • For Accounting & Finance: Teach personal/business finance, investment appraisal, and cost analysis; develop students’ Excel modelling skills (NPV, IRR, cash flows).
  • For Global Economy: Teach globalisation indicators, international trade, market strategic behaviour, and sustainability using frameworks like PESTLE and Porter’s 5 Forces.
  • Identify and apply diverse case studies (e.g. ESG, start-ups, multinationals) to develop students’ critical thinking and employability skills.

Person Specifications

Legal status

  • Eligibility to live and work in in the UK.
  • Willingness to undergo a DBS check or overseas equivalent.


Qualifications

  • Good Honours and Master’s degrees in Economics, Accounting, Finance or a cognate subject.
  • Formal teaching qualification PGCHE or Registered Practitioner of Advance HE.

Experience and knowledge

  • Experience of teaching Economics and/or Finance at Levels 3-6 in a higher education environment.
  • Understanding of a variety of teaching approaches, including blended and case-based learning
  • Experience of module leadership and curriculum development.


Skills and Abilities

  • Ability to teach Excel-based financial modelling.
  • Ability to interpret global economic data from sources like World Bank or IMF.
  • Excellent communication and digital skills.
  • Proven track record of innovation in teaching.


Personal qualities

  • Empathy with international students and an understanding of their needs.
  • Flexibility & adaptability.
  • Excellent communication skills, oral & written.
  • Understanding of the higher education environment.
  • High level of IT skills.
