Job description

About Moray and Dr Gray’s Hospital Dr Gray’s Hospital is situated in Elgin, the county town of Moray, in North‑East of Scotland, five miles from the coastal town of Lossiemouth. It is the only centre in Grampian out-with Aberdeen providing a range of acute services. The hospital has been redeveloped, with modern equipment and user‑friendly facilities throughout, and offers a library, a postgraduate medical centre with 24/7 access, videoconferencing facilities and a Clinical Skills Centre. It has a close‑knit team of 35 consultants and provides a consultant‑led service in a small‑hospital atmosphere. Role Emergency Medicine Consultant – join a well‑established and enthusiastic team of existing consultants dedicated to providing a high‑quality, consultant‑led Emergency Care service. Full consideration will also be given to those who may have an interest in working across Emergency Care, Acute Medicine or Paediatrics. Consultants may also work in Pre‑hospital and Retrieval Medicine as part of the Emergency Medical Retrieval Service (EMRS) within the Scottish Ambulance Service. Responsibilities * Provide consultant‑led emergency care to patients presenting to the ED. * Collaborate across emergency care, acute medicine and paediatrics. * Support and lead on models of care that serve the population. * Participate in hyper‑acute stroke management and thrombectomy transfers. * Contribute to continuous learning and development within the Clinical Skills Centre. Qualifications * Full registration with a licence to practise with the GMC – licence must be in place prior to starting. * UK trained doctors with evidence of higher specialist training leading to CCT or within 6 months of confirmed entry on the GMC Specialist Register. * CESR (Certificate of Eligibility for Specialist Registration) or Portfolio Pathway doctors eligible after registration is awarded. * International recognised specialist qualifiers approved by the GMC with confirmed entry on the GMC Specialist Register. * Locum Consultant post available for 12 months for doctors not yet on the GMC Specialist Register, with an option to apply for CESR or Portfolio Pathway registration during locum employment.
