Position: English Teacher Location: St Albans Contract: Full-Time Start Date: September Key Stages: KS3–KS5 English Teacher Role in an Outstanding Independent School An Outstanding Independent School in St Albans is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and talented English Teacher to join its successful English department from September. About the Role The successful candidate will teach English across Key Stage 3, Key Stage 4, and Key Stage 5, delivering engaging lessons that inspire students to become confident readers, writers, and critical thinkers. Students study a broad curriculum including Shakespeare, modern and classic literature, poetry, drama, creative writing, and language analysis. You will prepare students for GCSE and A-Level English Literature and English Language examinations while encouraging intellectual curiosity and independent thought. You will also contribute to the wider life of the department through literacy initiatives, book clubs, debating, theatre visits, creative writing workshops, and enrichment activities.
