We are seeking a dedicated Individual Needs Assistant to join a secondary school in Hastings. This role is vital in assisting students with specific identified special educational needs to ensure their progress and integration within the school environment. The successful candidate will be instrumental in promoting the learning and personal development of all students, with a focus on those requiring special educational support.

Day-to-day of the role:

• Assist in ensuring the progress of students with specific identified special educational needs.
• Deliver targeted small-group support, providing pre-teach and post-teach input to reinforce key curriculum content, ensuring students can fully access and complete their GCSE studies.
• Clarify and explain instructions to students, ensuring they can use equipment and materials provided.
• Motivate and encourage students by providing levels of individual attention, reassurance, and help with learning tasks as appropriate to students’ needs.
• Assist in areas such as speech and language, behaviour, reading, spelling, numeracy, and handwriting/presentation.
