Job description
Site Supervisor – Secondary School – Bristol Start Date: As soon as possible Contract: Full-Time, Permanent Salary: Paid to scale A successful Secondary School in Bristol is looking to appoint a dependable and proactive Site Supervisor to join its experienced premises team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong practical skills who takes pride in maintaining a safe, secure and well-presented learning environment. Working closely with the Premises Manager and School Business Manager, you will play a vital role in the day-to-day operation of the school site, ensuring that buildings, grounds and facilities are maintained to a high standard. This varied role would suit someone who enjoys practical work, problem-solving and contributing to the smooth running of a busy school. School Information This is a well-established 11 to 18 Secondary School that provides an ambitious and inclusive learning environment where students are encouraged to achieve their full potential. The school has an excellent reputation for high standards, positive relationships and strong pastoral support. The school continually invests in its buildings and grounds to provide a safe, welcoming environment for students, staff and visitors. Site Team The Site Team ensures the school remains safe, secure and fully operational throughout the year. Responsibilities Opening and securing the school site. Carrying out routine maintenance and minor repairs. Completing daily health and safety inspections. Monitoring contractors working on site. Preparing classrooms and halls for school events. Maintaining heating, lighting and security systems. Responding to maintenance requests promptly. Maintaining external grounds and pathways. Monitoring fire safety equipment. Supporting emergency evacuation procedures. Assisting with deliveries and furniture movement. Maintaining maintenance records. Ensuring compliance with health and safety legislation. Reporting larger repairs to the Premises Manager. Supporting planned maintenance projects. Requirements Previous site or facilities experience. Good practical maintenance skills. Knowledge of health and safety regulations. Excellent organisational skills. Ability to prioritise workload. Strong communication skills. Reliable and proactive approach. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Commitment to safeguarding. Flexibility to support school operations.
