Job description
Position: Caretaker Location: Hackney Contract: Full-Time, Permanent Start Date: Immediate Start Available Caretaker Role in an Outstanding Primary School An Outstanding Primary School in Hackney is seeking to appoint a reliable and proactive Caretaker to join its dedicated premises team. About the Role The successful candidate will be responsible for the day-to-day management and upkeep of the school site, ensuring the premises remain safe, secure, and well maintained. Working closely with the School Business Manager and senior leadership team, you will carry out general maintenance duties, complete health and safety checks, manage site security, liaise with contractors, and support the operational needs of the school. This role requires a practical, organised, and dependable individual who can take ownership of the site and contribute to maintaining excellent standards. Key Responsibilities Open and close the school site safely and securely Carry out routine maintenance and minor repairs Ensure buildings and grounds are clean, safe, and well maintained Complete health and safety checks and compliance tasks Monitor heating, lighting, and site systems Liaise with contractors and oversee maintenance visits Assist with room setups for school events and activities Maintain a safe and welcoming environment for pupils and staff The School Environment This Outstanding Primary School in Hackney provides a vibrant and inclusive environment where pupils are encouraged to achieve their best.
