Job description
Independent School in Leicester, Leicestershire Full-time / Permanent Start Date: September 2026 Salary: Competitive We are looking for a talented and enthusiastic Business Studies Teacher (ECT) to join a thriving independent school in Leicester this September. This is a school where people genuinely enjoy coming to work. There is a strong sense of community, excellent behaviour, and a shared commitment to helping every pupil achieve their potential. Staff are supported, trusted, and encouraged to develop their teaching practice within a positive and collaborative environment. The Business Studies department is well-resourced, forward-thinking, and ambitious for its students. Whether you are an ECT beginning your teaching career or an experienced teacher, you will be joining a team that values engaging lessons, strong relationships and a genuine passion for developing students’ understanding of the business world. The role will involve: • Teaching Business Studies across Key Stages 4 and 5 (with opportunities to contribute at Key Stage 3 where appropriate) • Planning and delivering engaging lessons that develop students’ knowledge, skills and confidence • Encouraging curiosity, enterprise, creativity and real-world understanding of business concepts • Contributing to a supportive and collaborative department • Taking part in the wider life of the school, including enrichment and co-curricular opportunities We are looking for someone who: • Is passionate about Business Studies and enjoys inspiring young people • Builds positive relationships with students and colleagues • Has high expectations and a calm, consistent classroom presence • Is committed to developing as a teacher and embracing professional development • Is keen to contribute to a welcoming school community beyond the classroom In return, the school offers a supportive and ambitious environment, motivated pupils, excellent resources, and a strong focus on staff wellbeing and career development.
