Join East Sussex County Councils Communities Economy and Transport Directorate as a Registrar delivering vital front-line services to residents and visitors across the county.
Youll provide a professional and efficient service while registering births and deaths conducting ceremonies and producing accurate legal records. This is a varied customer-focused role requiring strong communication skills sound judgement attention to detail and good ICT skills in a fast-paced community-facing environment.
Three positions are available: full-time (37 hours).
- One full-time based in Lewes
- One full-time based in Crowborough
- One full-time based in Eastbourne
As part of a countywide service you may be required to work at any of our other locations across East Sussex.
This is a customer-facing role. It is not suitable for home working.
As a Registrar you will play a key role in delivering statutory services to the public ensuring legal processes are carried out accurately and professionally. Youll conduct face-to-face interviews deliver ceremonies and take ownership of producing and maintaining precise legal records while providing a high standard of customer service.
Working within a busy and collaborative team youll liaise with a range of partners and stakeholders managing competing priorities using strong organisational skills and attention to detail. This is a responsible and varied role offering the opportunity to develop expertise while contributing to an essential public service.
We are looking for candidates who:
- Have customer service experience and a commitment to delivering high-quality outcomes
- Can communicate clearly confidently and appropriately with a wide range of people including in sensitive situations
- Demonstrate attention to detail and accuracy when handling data and legal records
- Are well organised able to manage workloads effectively and respond positively to changing priorities
- Possess ICT skills including experience of Microsoft Office and data input systems
