Job Description
Reports to: Site Manager
Location: Chichester, West Sussex (with UK-wide site work)
Salary: £39,780 – £46,800 per annum (dependent on qualifications and experience)
Hours: Full Time – Monday to Friday, 7:00am – 4:30pm (45 hours per week)

About the role
Are you an experienced, fully qualified Electrician who takes pride in installing safe, high-quality, and compliant electrical systems? Join our growing modular building manufacturing and installation team, where you will bring vital power, lighting, and systems to life. In this role, you will be responsible for the full electrical fit-out, containment, wiring, inspection, and testing within our modern modular and portable buildings.
You will work within our advanced manufacturing facility and support installation projects on customer sites throughout the UK. If you enjoy variety, precision work, and seeing the direct impact of your craftsmanship from the factory floor to the final site installation, this is the perfect move for you.

Key Responsibilities
• Install & fit out: Set up complete electrical systems within modular buildings, including consumer units, internal/external wiring, lighting, heating systems, and power outlets.
• Technical accuracy: Read and confidently interpret electrical drawings, schematics, technical specifications, and installation layouts to ensure precise and compliant setups.
• Test & commission: Carry out periodic inspection, testing, and verification of electrical installations (where qualified/certified). Safely sign off work in strict accordance with current BS 7671 regulations and company quality standards.
• Maintain & repair: Undertake electrical modifications, fault-finding, maintenance, and repairs both in our manufacturing factory and on customer sites across the UK.
• Records & reporting: Maintain accurate records of completed work, test certificates, and report any installation issues or defects immediately.
• Tools & equipment care: Ensure all tools, plant, testing equipment, and calibration certificates are maintained, inspected, and stored correctly.
• Quality of work: Aim for a "right first time" standard to minimise snagging, defects, and call-backs, while keeping accurate records of your completed work.
• Collaborate & support: work closely with supervisors and colleagues to hit production schedules and meet crucial customer deadlines.
• Safety & housekeeping: work safely in line with Company Health, Safety, Environmental, and Quality systems. This includes maintaining excellent housekeeping standards in the workshop and on sites, looking after your tools, participating in toolbox talks, safety briefings, and immediately reporting hazards, near misses, or unsafe conditions.

Requirements

Essential Requirements
• Experience: minimum 3 years’ post-qualification experience (PQE) within commercial, industrial, or modular installations.
• Qualifications: fully qualified status with a recognized NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installations / Electrotechnical Technology (or equivalent) and successful completion of the AM2 assessment.
• Current Regulations: active and valid BS 7671 (18th Edition) Certification (City & Guilds 2382).
• Ability to read and autonomously interpret technical drawings, installation specifications, and electrical schematics.
• Willingness to travel and work on customer sites throughout the UK, including occasional overnight stays.
• Successful completion of a DBS Check and legal Right to Work in the UK.
• Full UK Driving Licence.

Desirable Qualifications & Experience
• Valid ECS (Electrotechnical Certification Scheme) Gold Card (or willingness to obtain one prior to / shortly after starting).
• Inspection & Testing Certification: City & Guilds 2391 or 2392 (Initial Verification and/or Periodic Inspection and Testing).
• Experience within modular construction or off-site manufacturing
• First Aid at Work qualification

You are
• A professional who takes true pride in producing high-quality workmanship, combines sharp problem-solving with a keen eye for detail, and always keeps safety and customer satisfaction at the forefront of every job.
• A reliable, self-motivated team player with a positive attitude, excellent communication skills, and a flexible, punctual approach to changing project needs, workloads, and site travel.
• A forward-thinking professional who naturally looks for ways to improve daily quality and efficiency, supports sustainable, waste-reducing working practices, and collaborates with colleagues to maintain high standards across all projects.

Benefits

Why join the JCPSA team?
• Good pay: competitive salary (dependent on experience) plus overtime opportunities (Monday-Saturday)
• Gear provided: full corporate workwear, top-quality tools, and high-end PPE
• Our yard setup: a free parking on-site; a dynamic yard with specialized, well-lit modular workstations. You’ll be moving between indoor fabrication and the outdoor yard, working with a supportive, down-to-earth management team.
• Time for yourself: 21 days annual leave plus all Bank Holidays
• Stability you can count on: Company Pension Scheme and a secure, long-term role within a steadily growing business
• Family & wellbeing: enhanced maternity/paternity benefits (subject to qualifying period) to look after you and your family; access to the sauna on the yard.
• Skills development: ongoing training and professional development to keep your qualifications sharp
• Work opportunities: building a wide range of innovative, high-quality modular building projects

Health & Safety
We treat Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality Management Systems seriously, having ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45000 certification. We are looking for professional team members who naturally respect workshop and construction sites rules, follow procedures, commit to continuous improvement, and look out for their colleagues.
