Registered Manager – Learning Disabilities Children's Home Location: Rotherham, South Yorkshire (S63) Job Type: Full-time Industry: Social Care Experience Required: 1–3 years Salary: £38,001 - £47,028.80 Lead with Purpose. About Our Client Our client is a nationally recognised provider delivering specialist services including: Children's Residential Care Family Assessment Services 16+ Supported Living Learning Disabilities Support Everything they do is centred around helping children, young people and families feel safe, valued and empowered to achieve positive futures. Your Role as Registered Manager As the Registered Manager of a Learning Disabilities Children's Home, you will lead and inspire a dedicated team to provide a safe, nurturing and structured environment where young people can flourish. This is a fantastic opportunity to support the registration of a new service, recruit and develop your own team, and establish a positive, child-centred culture from the very beginning. You'll be supported by experienced professionals across HR, Quality Assurance, Psychology, Education, IT, Finance and a network of experienced Ofsted Registered Managers. Key Responsibilities Lead and inspire a high-performing residential team. Create a safe, nurturing and structured home environment. Promote positive outcomes, independence, confidence and life skills for young people. Maintain a strong child-centred approach in all aspects of service delivery. Drive performance and deliver consistently high standards of care. Develop, implement and review individual care plans. Supervise, appraise, coach and develop members of your team. Ensure full compliance with children's home regulations, legislation and Ofsted standards. Lead the Ofsted registration process and support the successful opening of the service. Recruit, induct and develop a skilled and motivated workforce. Work collaboratively with partner agencies to advocate for young people. Continuously strive to achieve outcomes that exceed expected standards. About You The successful candidate will have: Level 3 Diploma in Children's Residential Childcare. Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (or willingness to achieve within two years). A minimum of two years' experience working within residential childcare. Strong knowledge of children's home legislation, Ofsted regulations and quality standards. Experience completing risk assessments and producing clear, professional reports. Proven leadership experience with the ability to motivate, develop and inspire teams. Excellent communication, organisational and decision-making skills. A proactive, flexible and solution-focused approach. Significant experience supporting children with Learning Disabilities, Autism and complex needs. Experience establishing new services, or the confidence and capability to do so. The ability to promote aspirational outcomes for both young people and staff. Confidence to challenge appropriately, advocate effectively and maintain high standards across internal and external partnerships.
