Team Support Role – Haywards Heath

Teaching Personnel is working closely with a supportive and inclusive Primary Special Educational Needs (SEND) school in the Haywards Heath area, who are looking to appoint a dedicated and enthusiastic Team Support Educator to join their SEND support team from September.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an educator who enjoys working collaboratively as part of a close-knit team and is passionate about helping children with additional needs achieve their full potential.

As a Team Support Educator, you will work alongside a team of experienced SEND Teaching Assistants, all working towards the same goal of providing outstanding support to primary-aged boys with Special Educational Needs. The pupils you will support have a range of needs, including Autism (ASC), ADHD, and associated behavioural challenges, requiring a consistent, patient, and team-focused approach.

The Role

As part of the SEND support team, you will play an important role in creating a safe, positive, and engaging learning environment for pupils throughout the school day. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Working collaboratively alongside a team of SEND Teaching Assistants to support primary-aged boys with additional needs.

  • Providing classroom, social, and emotional support to pupils with Autism, ADHD, and behavioural needs.

  • Building positive relationships with pupils to help them feel safe, valued, and encouraged.

  • Supporting children during lessons, transitions, break times, and wider school activities.

  • Assisting pupils with emotional regulation and using positive behaviour strategies when challenges arise.

  • Communicating effectively with colleagues to ensure consistency and continuity of support.

  • Sharing observations and working together with the wider school team to meet individual pupil needs.

  • Encouraging independence, confidence, and positive engagement within the school environment.

The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has previous experience supporting children or young people with SEND, Autism, ADHD, or behavioural needs.

  • Is friendly, approachable, and enjoys working as part of a wider support team.

  • Has excellent communication skills and can build strong professional relationships with colleagues.

  • Is patient, resilient, and able to remain calm when supporting pupils with challenging behaviours.

  • Understands the importance of consistency, teamwork, and positive relationships when working with SEND pupils.

  • Is proactive and willing to support wherever needed to help pupils succeed.

  • Holds (or is willing to obtain) an Enhanced Child Workforce DBS.

  • Can commit to a full-time role, Monday to Friday, starting from September.

  • Holds a full UK driving licence and has access to a vehicle due to the school's location.

What We Offer

  • Competitive weekly pay of £360 - £460.

  • A full-time opportunity starting in September with the potential to become permanent.

  • The chance to work alongside an experienced and supportive SEND team.

  • Ongoing guidance and support from your dedicated Teaching Personnel consultant.

  • Access to SEND-focused training and professional development opportunities.

  • The opportunity to make a meaningful difference by supporting children with additional needs every day.

If you are a team-focused, caring, and enthusiastic educator who enjoys working collaboratively to support children with SEND, we would love to hear from you. Apply today and become part of a dedicated team helping primary-aged pupils reach their full potential.
