We are seeking a committed and compassionate Advanced Teaching Assistant to join a supportive team in KS1 and play a key role in the development of pupils with a range of additional needs.

This is a rewarding opportunity for someone who is passionate about supporting young people and making a genuine impact on their educational journey. The school provides a nurturing and inclusive environment where every child is encouraged to develop confidence, independence, and essential life skills.

The Role

As an Advanced Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with pupils who require additional support, helping them to engage with learning, build positive relationships, and reach individual targets.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Supporting the delivery of engaging and differentiated lessons alongside teaching staff.
  • Encouraging independence, confidence, and social development through consistent support and positive reinforcement.
  • Assisting pupils with emotional regulation, sensory needs, and daily routines.
  • Working collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and families to ensure the best possible outcomes for each child.

About You

The successful candidate will have:

  • Previous experience supporting children or young people with special educational needs in an educational, care, or community setting.
  • A patient, empathetic, and resilient approach.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • A proactive attitude and genuine commitment to supporting young people.
  • An enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or a willingness to obtain one.

Desirable Experience

  • Level 2 or Level 3 qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning, Health and Social Care, or a related field.
  • Knowledge of autism support strategies, PECS, or Makaton.
  • Previous experience working within a specialist SEN setting.

What We Offer:

  • Competitive daily rates
  • Ongoing professional development and training opportunities
  • Support from a dedicated Teaching Personnel consultant
  • Opportunity to make a meaningful difference in pupils’ lives
  • Access to CPD training, offering you structured support, coaching and upskilling in every aspect
