Job SummaryWe are seeking an experienced First Contact Physiotherapist (FCP) to provide autonomous assessment, diagnosis and management of musculoskeletal conditions in primary care. You will work as the first point of contact for patients without the need for prior GP assessment, in line with the NHS First Contact Practitioner Roadmap.

- Identify red flags and serious pathology and arrange urgent referral where appropriate.
- Request and interpret investigations within local pathways.
- Provide self-management advice, exercise prescription and onward referrals.

About usMorris House is situated in Tottenham in a large, modern and airy purpose-built Medical Centre, which we share with district nurses, community physiotherapists, podiatrists, psychologists, tissue-viability nurses and a sexual health clinic. Our list size is about 15,000 patients. It is a diverse area and a cultural melting-pot.
Our practice has a very strong teaching ethos. We train GP registrars, medical students, physicians associates and foundation year 2 doctors among others. We have close links with Kings Medical School and the St Georges Physician Associate teaching program. We provide training to GP trainees from the Enfield and Haringey VTS and Foundation Year 2 doctors from the North Middlesex Hospital rotation program.
We perform the full range of clinical roles that you would expect in primary care. In addition, we offer high level minor surgery and specialist tongue tie release services. We have Diabetic, Learning Disability, Spirometry clinics. We offer a range of face to face and telephone appointment.
We are a friendly and interactive practice. We support our staff with study leave allowance, study leave funding, regular meetings, morning coffee, teaching and social events / parties. We conduct regular satisfaction surveys.

Care and Programme Management- Communicate highly sensitive condition related information to patients, relatives and carers.
- Initiate the process of diagnosis with patients suspected to have a chronic disease
- Contribute to practice targets both local and national within the disease management

- Work at the forefront of practice innovation. Determine how to deal with ambiguous or unique problems to develop and advance primary care services for the benefit of patients, carers and communities.
- Recognition and involvement in Morris House Group Practice as a teaching practice and help drive the further development of the clinical teams by offering expert physiotherapist advice and teaching
- Develop links within the Primary Care Network and other local and national bodies relevant to primary care physiotherapy initiatives.
Health Improvement- Initiate and carry out programmes of health screening and ensure other team members are aware of health agendas and screening programmes relevant to physiotherapy.
- Introduce innovation in practice to meet ongoing health need demands of the practice population.
- Share innovation and new learning with others.
- Support practitioners in profiling the practice population in order to initiate contribute and promote improved health and prevent disease in individuals and groups.
- Represent individuals and families interests when they are not able to do so themselves.
