Job description

Arabic Speaking SEND Teaching Assistant

Orpington | Secondary School | September 2026 Start

Protocol Education is working with a welcoming secondary school in Orpington looking for an Arabic Speaking SEND Teaching Assistant to provide dedicated 1:1 support for a student with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) from September 2026.

This is a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference every single day. You'll become a consistent, trusted adult for one young person, helping them access learning, build confidence and thrive both academically and socially. Your ability to communicate in Arabic will play an important role in supporting the student's learning and, where appropriate, strengthening communication with their family.

If you're calm under pressure, patient, and believe every young person deserves the chance to succeed, we'd love to hear from you.

What you'll be doing

  • Providing dedicated 1:1 support to a secondary-aged student with SEND throughout the school day
  • Using your Arabic language skills to help the student access learning and communicate with confidence
  • Supporting emotional regulation, engagement and independence
  • Building a positive, trusting relationship that helps the student feel safe and supported
  • Working closely with teachers, the SENCO and pastoral team to deliver personalised support
  • Creating a calm, encouraging and inclusive learning environment where the student can flourish

We'd love to hear from you if you:

  • Speak fluent Arabic and English
  • Have experience supporting children or young people with SEND, SEMH or additional needs, or have transferable experience from care, youth work or support roles
  • Are patient, resilient and empathetic
  • Can build strong, positive relationships and remain calm in challenging situations
  • Are passionate about helping young people achieve their potential
  • Can travel to Orpington and are available to start in September 2026

Why work with Protocol Education?

  • Weekly pay through PAYE, no umbrella companies
  • FREE access to our online CPD Academy
  • Personalised support from your dedicated consultant
  • Opportunities in mainstream, SEND and alternative provision settings
  • Streamlined registration and local school placements
  • Referral scheme, earn rewards for recommending friends
  • FREE Thrive training, helping you build specialist skills and making you even more valuable to schools

Every day brings new challenges and new reasons to smile. As a 1:1 Teaching Assistant, you'll have the chance to build a lasting relationship with one young person, celebrating every breakthrough, big or small.

If you're ready to start a rewarding role in Orpington, where your language skills and support can genuinely change a young person's school experience, we'd love to hear from you.

Apply today to secure your September 2026 role.

All applicants will require the appropriate qualifications and training for this role. Please see the FAQs on the Protocol Education website for further details.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
