Job Description

Who Are Siddall & Hilton?

At Siddall & Hilton, they manufacture high-quality welded steel mesh used in security, construction, infrastructure and critical projects across the UK and internationally.

Established in Brighouse in 1895, they combine a proud history with a forward-thinking culture focused on innovation, teamwork and continuous improvement.

Their purpose is simple: to make it safe - for their customers, their communities and their people.

If you are reliable, motivated and keen to learn, they will provide the training and support you need to build a long-term career with them.

Join a supportive workplace where your ideas are valued and you can grow with the business.

Why Join Siddall and Hilton?

✔ Starting salary of £33,180

✔ Industry-leading pension scheme

✔ 34 days annual leave (including Bank Holidays)

✔ Structured training programme

✔ Genuine career progression opportunities

✔ Stable, long-established British manufacturer

✔ Permanent full-time employment

What You'll Be Doing?

You'll become part of a skilled production team responsible for manufacturing high-quality welded steel mesh using modern automated machinery.

Every shift you'll learn how to:

  • Operate automated production equipment
  • Monitor product quality and carry out inspections
  • Adjust machine settings following full training
  • Identify and solve production issues
  • Work safely as part of a close-knit team
  • Help us continuously improve our manufacturing processes

No two days are exactly the same, and every day offers the opportunity to develop new technical skills.

Shift Pattern 3-shift rotation (Mon–Fri): 06:00–14:00 / 14:00–22:00 / 22:00–06:00

Shift working allows them to support customers across the UK while providing an excellent overall salary and benefits package.

Requirements

What they are looking for:

  • Practical experience in a production or mechanical environment, setting and operating machinery
  • A strong commitment to safety and product quality
  • Experience using hand tools (e.g. Allen keys, hammers, screwdrivers)
  • Confidence with basic digital tools, such as on-screen and tablet-based systems
  • An adaptable, driven and team-focused attitude, genuinely open to learning new technology and better ways of working
  • Curiosity about innovation and AI, with ideas for doing things better
  • The ability to work all three rotating shifts (early, late and night)

If you also have the following, that's great, but they can train you if not:

  • Basic understanding of drawings and measurements
  • Forklift truck (FLT) licence
  • AI literacy
  • GCSE Maths and English at grade C / 4 or above (or equivalent)
  • Prior experience in manufacturing or production, ideally welding automation or mesh making in another sector

If you're practical, dependable and enjoy learning, they'd like to hear from you.

They're much more interested in your attitude than your previous job title.

Benefits

What's in it for you

  • Competitive pay, £33,180 per annum
  • 34 days' paid leave, inclusive of bank holidays (carry over up to 5 days for extra flexibility)
  • Industry-leading salary-sacrifice pension scheme, helping you grow your retirement savings while paying less tax
  • Life assurance equivalent to 4x salary
  • Paid charity volunteering day
  • Long-service awards
  • Employee referral scheme
  • Pirkx platform with access to a broad range of discounts and offers
  • Cycle to Work scheme
  • Access to a free personal financial coach with Octopus Money Coach
  • Free on-site parking, or a short walk from the train station
  • Free on-site EV charging points
  • Team garden space, canteen and games area
  • On-site shower facilities and cycle shelter
  • Employee Assistance Programme

Skills They'll Help You Develop

Working at Siddall & Hilton will give you valuable experience in:

  • Automated manufacturing
  • Engineering processes
  • Machine operation
  • Quality inspection
  • Lean manufacturing
  • Problem solving
  • Continuous improvement
  • Teamworking

Ready to Join Siddall & Hilton?

If you're looking for a skilled career in manufacturing with excellent training and benefits, they'd love to hear from you. Siddall & Hilton is an equal opportunities employer.

They welcome applications from all backgrounds and are committed to building an inclusive workforce.
