We’re recruiting ALN Teaching Assistants across South West Wales to work in Secondary Schools and Specialist SEN Settings!
The Role
- Hours: 08:30 – 15:30 (Perfect work-life balance ✅)
- Pay: £14.25 per hour
- Days: Monday to Friday – NO weekends!
- Locations: Swansea, Neath Port Talbot, Carmarthenshire, Pembrokeshire & Ceredigion
As an ALN Teaching Assistant, you will support pupils with a wide range of additional learning needs, including Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), ADHD, Social, Emotional & Mental Health (SEMH) needs, speech and language difficulties, and other learning challenges. You will play a vital role in helping students access education, build confidence, and achieve their full potential.
What We’re Looking For
To work as an ALN Teaching Assistant in Wales, you should have:
✔ A relevant qualification (e.g. Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant, Supporting Teaching & Learning, Health & Social Care, or equivalent)
✔ Experience supporting children or young people with ALN, SEN, behavioural needs, or disabilities (desirable but not essential)
✔ A calm, patient, and nurturing approach to supporting learners
✔ Strong communication and relationship-building skills
✔ A genuine passion for helping young people overcome barriers to learning
✔ Registered with the EWC (Education Workforce Council) or willing to register
✔ Enhanced DBS certificate (or willing to obtain one)
✔ A driving licence and access to a vehicle is desirable due to some school locations but not essential
