Job summary
We have an exciting opportunity for a Bank Breast Care Nurse Specialist to join our Outpatients team based in Hemel Hempstead. You will join us on a Bank basis, and in return, you will receive a competitive hourly rate

Main duties of the job
To be responsible for reviewing existing Breast Care Unit, including the development and implementation of policies, procedures, and care pathways. This role is pivotal in providing comprehensive care and support to patients with breast cancer and other breast-related conditions.

About the role
Your responsibilities will include:
To be responsible for reviewing existing Breast Care Unit, including the development and implementation of policies, procedures, and care pathways. This role is pivotal in providing comprehensive care and support to patients with breast cancer and other breast-related conditions.

About you
The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications, skills and experience:
  • Registered Nurse (RN) with a valid NMC registration and postgraduate qualification in breast care nursing or oncology nursing, ideally with leadership and management experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in breast care or oncology nursing with experience in setting up or managing a clinical unit.
  • Knowledge of CQC requirements and clinical governance issues.

Education/ Qualifications
Essential
  • Registered Nurse (RN) with a valid NMC registration.
  • Postgraduate qualification in breast care nursing or oncology nursing.

Desirable
  • Leadership and Management experience

Experience
Essential
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in breast care or oncology nursing.
  • Experience in setting up or managing a clinical unit.

Knowledge/Skills

  • Consolidated nursing experience, and ongoing clinical competency.
  • Evidence of on-going professional development.
  • Awareness and understanding of current health and nursing issues.
  • Problem solver who meets deadlines
  • Ability to coach, advise & develop others
  • Able to present information, including ability to teach/train groups of staff
  • Knowledge of CQC requirements
  • Knowledge of clinical governance issues
  • Experience of clinical audit
